“That was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was filled with excitement for the Dallas team.”
Jones additionally clarified that the signal was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was accidentally done. This is sincere. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”
