We start with queries from Conservative lawmaker the committee chair, that chairs the committee.

She commences by providing details to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.

"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, fair and equitable," he says.

In response to a query if he considers the BBC is institutionally biased, he responds: "Absolutely not. Let's be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is exceptional - encompassing documentary and fictional content."

But he adds: "There is real work that needs to be done at the BBC."

A further former external British Broadcasting Corporation consultant interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she views the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it maintains a "persistent practice and active debate" across evolving and intricate issues.

"Did the BBC prepared to have a genuine discussion and argument and act accordingly?" she questions. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
