Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician has been charged with committing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
