Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
